THE new £1m F BALL AND CO state-of-the-art training centre in Cheddleton was officially opened recently. Chief executive of the Contract Flooring Association, Richard Catt, was among those present. After the opening, the first training course took place with delegates each receiving a celebratory bottle of champagne. Richard Catt comments: ‘It’s great to see a company willing and able to invest in training. Training is the cornerstone of the CFA’s philosophy and values and, we are also grateful for F Ball’s continuing sponsorship of the FITA training centre at Loughborough.’ F Ball’s new centre features high-tech conference facilities, meeting rooms and practical demonstration areas. All courses are presented by experts from the company’s technical department and cover subfloor preparation and adhesive selection, as well as installation advice on F Ball’s product range. One and two-day courses are open to flooring contractors of all experience levels, allowing them to develop or refresh their skills.
Delegates are offered hands-on experience of applying the company’s products, including adhesives, smoothing underlayments, repair compounds and waterproof surface membranes.
Richard Harris, marketing manager at F Ball, says: ‘Our courses address common issues and include information on the latest advances in flooring adhesive and underlayment technology – enabling contractors to confidently identify the most appropriate products and installation techniques for each project.’
