Gradus gets to work at steel city house
GRADUS has provided a range of flooring accessories to enhance the interior and provide safe access for users at Steel City House, Sheffield. Spread over 63,000sq ft, the development offers new facilities, set within a building steeped with heritage that retains many of its original architectural features.
Gradus specified a variety of flooring accessories and floorcoverings to enhance the interior and provide safe access for all. Times Square carpet tiles were specified for use in the corridor and atrium areas. The design of Times Square reportedly complements the modern contemporary interior, while its acoustic properties make it a suitable choice to create a welcoming environment for all building users. Esplanade 5000HD Primary Barrier Matting was installed in three main entrances and one rear entrance in colourway Jackdaw (black). This barrier matting reportedly improves safety by reducing the risk of slip accidents caused by wet flooring. It is also said to help reduce cleaning and maintenance costs. John Scotting, Managing Director of main developer Scott‘s Developments, commented: ‘The Gradus products selected provide the perfect balance between practicality and aesthetics and we’re really pleased with the finished outcome.’
ADXT3 stair edgings were specified on all staircases. ADXT3 is part of the Gradus XTrange and comprises an aluminium channel with a slip resistant insert that extends around the leading edge of the profile, which Gradus says ensures foot contact is always made with the slip-resistant element of the stair edging for improved user safety. Karen Burman, product manager for Gradus, said: ‘We are thrilled to have been involved in the restoration of this iconic building. We specified matting, stair edgings and carpet that will help to provide user safety, while also enhancing the modern design scheme.
