BAL adds to sales team

BAL says it’s strengthened its sales team with the appointments of Todd Misselbrook and Mark Blamires.

Todd joins BAL as area sales manager for the southeast and Mark joins as specification manager for the north respectively. Hailing from Southampton, Todd has a vast amount of experience as an area sales manager and has recently joined from Instarmac Group where he looked after the Ultra Tile brand across the southeast.

Before joining Instarmac, Todd spent 11 years as area sales manager for Lyreco UK.

Todd will work with distributors, contractors and fixers in the southeast, helping drive through sales and brand awareness.

Mark is from West Yorkshire and has recently joined BAL from CTD Architectural Tiles (formally Swedecor) where he was an area sales manager. Previously with Porcelanosa, Mark also spent 15 years at Jacuzzi Group.

Mark will work closely with architects, specifiers, contractors, sub-contractors and fixers to deliver full tiling solutions and specifications for commercial and domestic projects across the north of England.
David Lyman, sales director at Building Adhesives, said: ‘I’m delighted to welcome two highly experienced sales and specification specialists into our sales team.

‘Both Todd and Mark know tiling inside and out and I’m confident they’ll deliver outstanding support to our distribution partners, contractors, architects and end users.’

Building Adhesives, manufacturer of tile adhesives, grouts, sealants and ancillary tiling, flooring and decorating products under the BAL and Dunlop brands, has appointed David Lyman as the company’s sales director.

Overseeing the sales teams for both brands, David brings what is described as a wealth of experience having spent more than 10 years with Hilti in various sales roles, rising to market segment/trade manager for Northern Europe.

David graduated from The University of Hull with a business degree before completing an MBA from Lancaster University.

David said: ‘As the founding pioneer in tile fixing systems Building Adhesives is trusted throughout the industry for its ground-breaking products which provide solutions for all types of tiling projects – and I’m delighted to be joining such an innovative company.

‘I’m looking forward to working with a fantastic sales team and our core customers to drive sales across the UK. I’m confident that with the right team in place, we can continue to deliver robust figures in the face of strong headwinds.’

Commenting on the appointment, David Hackett, general manager at Building Adhesives said: ‘With a sound commercial background at a large multinational construction company, David is well placed to ensure that Building Adhesives continues to meet the needs of our distribution network and ensure strong sales growth in both brands.’
