V4 WOODFLOORING has appointed Lee Harris to its sales team. Lee will work across the North West, including Cheshire, Manchester, North Wales, Cumbria, the Isle of Man and Merseyside.  
Lee, 51, who lives in Saddleworth, Greater Manchester, joins V4 Woodflooring from Cormar Carpets. He has 35 years’ experience in the flooring sector.

‘Listening to retailer feedback there was a definite demand to introduce improved display material for their stores, which would enable them to show customers larger samples of our wood floor collections in a more impactful way.

‘We’ve designed our new stands to showcase our ranges with easily accessible larger sample sizes, combined with a more engaging brand and information output.’

• BAL has appointed Andy Oates as product support technician (PST) for the London and the South East.

In 2015 Andy was named as The Tile Association (TTA) Tile Fixer of the Year and joins BAL after nearly 20 years in the tiling industry.

Qualifying with a NVQ Level 2 from Lambeth College, Andy began his tiling career with Moderna before joining Wilson & Wylie Contracts and then Stortford Tiling and Marble.

In 2016 he founded Woodford Tiling which provided full tiling services for residential and commercial tiling.

Andrew is joined in the product support team by Sean Page who will work with fixers, contractors and distributors in East Anglia.

Sean, from Colchester, spent more than 10 years as a professional tiler with his own business Kabenza Tiling, developing his business and customer base from scratch and working in the domestic and commercial markets.

Commenting on the appointments, Lewis Lupton, BAL PST manager said: ‘I’m delighted to welcome two highly experienced tiling professionals into our industry-respected product support team.
‘Andrew and Sean know tiling inside and out and have the skills and knowledge to provide detailed on-site product and project support to our customers.’

• Atkinson & Kirby has boosted its growing specification team with the appointment of Andrew Smyth as specification sales manager for London and the South East.

Prior to his role at Atkinson & Kirby, Andrew worked with several wood flooring brands, building his career with Kährs, Ted Todd and more recently, Boen.

Having worked in the industry since 1996, Andrew’s sales experience has led him to work in various sectors, including the retail and specification markets, where he was responsible for producing and presenting RIBA CPDs, designing showroom and display concepts as well as creating sales training packages.

Commenting on his new role, Andrew said: ‘I’m excited to be joining the team at Atkinson & Kirby. With my knowledge and experience in the flooring sector, I’m confident I’ll deliver what is asked, helping to take the brand to the next level.’

Josh Burbidge, director of Flooring at Atkinson & Kirby, said: ‘Andrew’s 20 years’ experience and thorough understanding of the timber market will stand him in great stead for his new specification sales manager role at Atkinson & Kirby.
