Desso & Grant Thornton
ACCOUNTANCY firm Grant Thornton recently underwent a full refurbishment to its London office on Finsbury Square. Leading the project, architects from TP Bennett were tasked with designing a new and bright workspace for staff to enjoy.
Working in collaboration with fit-out specialists from Square Metre, Desso’s Traverse carpet planks were selected to move away from the traditional grid flooring associated with corporate offices by creating a more vibrant setting, using creative patterns with alternative colours, textures and depth.
The flooring scheme included 800sq m of Traverse planks in a range of yellow, green and grey tones, creating a simple diagonal line pattern using the differences in dye and ridges in the yarn construction.
This apparently bold, statement design is said to have provided a sense of movement in the open-plan space.
Katy Boulter, interior designer at TP Bennett, said, ‘A key part of the brief was to provide a completely new environment.
‘Desso Traverse allowed us to do this by introducing an alternative tile shape and more creative layering patterns which, when paired with the yellow and grey colour scheme, created a unique and eye-catching design.
‘The office has a totally new feel and we’re all really pleased with the outcome.’
