FibreGrid GRP inserts
FIBREGRID has announced additional coloured GRP inserts to its EdgeGrip Aluminium Nosing range.
These new inserts are available in blue, red and black, are said to be more subtle than traditional industrial GRP nosings, so giving extra choice where aesthetics are important.
They also help keep you compliant to the Building Regulation and Disability Discrimination Act Part III, the sections relevant to the partially sighted.
In order that the obligations are satisfied, in essence, all stairs accessible by members of the public, should have a contrasting coloured nosing fitted to the step edges and in addition, such nosings should provide a slip resistant top surface.
FibreGrid says the launch of these new colours will give greater choice in defining areas in a public space, and help prevent slips owing to their 55mm anti-slip fibreglass composition.
‘Used with aluminum nosings will result in longer life, as the aluminium composition means it's more resistant to impact and corrosion, as well as having a light reflectance value of 81 (in yellow), making it particularly useful for those with visual impairment.’
