Heckmondwike carpet planks

H ECKMONDWIKE says it’s seen a rise in demand for carpet planks in commercial settings, as designers and specifiers look to create ever more inspirational interiors.

Carpet planks, which are sold in a standard 25cm x 100cm size, are available across Heckmondwike’s Supacord, Broadrib, Iron Duke, Night Sky and Array ranges.

Robert Mortimer, national sales manager at Heckmondwike, said: ‘The planked look is very much on trend at the moment and we’ve seen a huge surge in interest recently. Specifiers and designers like the aesthetics of our carpet planks, as they open up huge design opportunities as they can be used alongside tiles, sheet or other types of flooring.

‘The overall effect is stunning, creating contemporary vibrant interiors that are available in a wide choice of colours from these five popular ranges.’

Carpet planks are popular as they replicate the minimalist wooden floor look, without the acoustics of timber flooring or the risk of slips, trips and falls, says Heckmondwike.

Available as planks, Heckmondwike’s Supacord is reportedly the most popular fibre-bonded carpet range manufactured by Heckmondwike.

Available in 42 colour options, it has an A+ BREEAM rating, which is said to help a project achieve its environmental credentials.

Supacord is claimed to be renowned for its durability and colour fastness and retains its aesthetics for years.

Heckmondwike’s Array planks from its Creative range feature a mid-width rib design, with a charcoal background, which is enhanced with a subtle linear pattern. Available in a choice of 12 colours, Array’s stylish design is said to co-ordinate with the company’s Broadrib carpet tiles in a complementary solid shade to provide ‘a stunning effect’.

Also available in planks is Heckmondwike’s Broadrib range, which has a wide rib structure to create a defined contrast in its texture. The range is available in a choice of 24 colours, including complementary colours for the company’s Array and Night Sky ranges.

Iron Duke is available in a choice of 16 colours to give specifiers and designers endless creative design possibilities with its planks. Featuring a flat finish that be cut easily onsite, the range ‘is extremely popular in offices and commercial environments, which are often subjected to high volumes of traffic’.

Finally, the company’s Night Sky carpet plank is said to provide a contemporary twist on the traditional plain tile. Manufactured with the charcoal colourway as its base, Night Sky features a choice of nine accent colours punched through to create an eye-catching ‘night sky’ effect with a ‘designer’ feel.
