Seeing red - Forbo
JULIE Dempster, marketing manager at Forbo Flooring Systems talks about the use of the colour red in design and why we shouldn’t be afraid of bold colours.
‘Red is a colour very much associated with winter; think Christmas decorations, mulled wine and log fires. However, despite these positive connotations, some can be wary of using striking and bold shades of red in design.
‘Yet, primary colours like red can create some of the most aesthetically pleasing indoor environments possible – so red is certainly not to be ignored.’
Forbo’s luxury carpet tile Westbond is available in several shades of red, including a lighter Cherry Blush and the deeper Maroon colourway, which can be used to create what Forbo describes as a totally different style and feel to a room.
‘In fact, if customers can’t find the exact shade of red in our colour palette, we offer a bespoke colour matching service from as little as 1sq m, so they’re sure to find their perfect shade! An example of our Westbond carpet tiles at work is in Cummins Generator Technologies’ headquarters in Peterborough, where it was installed in the colour Poppy, to create a striking feature with real ‘wow’ factor in their reception area.
‘Moreover, Forbo Flooring Systems has a host of floorcoverings, which are available in an array of colours – including numerous shades of red. Notably, Marmoleum has a palette of more than 300 colours, along with the option to create an entirely bespoke design using Aquajet laser cutting technology – meaning anything is possible when it comes to designing a floor surface.’
Westbond is described by Forbo as a premium quality fusion bonded, cut pile carpet tile, available in three beautiful, high performance ranges.
