The glue that binds
TILEMASTER Adhesives says it offers a comprehensive range of adhesives, developed to help solve onsite challenges and apparently promote a fast, easy installation. Made in the UK, the product range includes adhesives for substrates and surface finishes – from large format porcelain tiles, to stone mosaics.
It’s also said to provide options for setting and location requirements, ‘from highly flexible rapid-set adhesives, for surfaces subjected to movement, to high coverage eco-formulations with extended open times’.
New products to join the range include ‘Magix’ – a ‘revolutionary’ wall-and-floor tile adhesive that’s claimed to give double the coverage. Available in Magix-R rapid set and Magix-S standard set, each 10kg bag of Magix provides the same coverage as a traditional 20kg bag of sand/cement-based tile adhesive.
This benefit, combined with Magix’s recycled content, is said to provide a more practical, sustainable solution. Benefits are said to include easier storage, transportation and handling, and reduced mixing times - as well as what’s described as exceptional workability and slip-resistance properties.
Magix formulations are S1 classified and available in white and grey. Magix-R is said to allow for light foot traffic and grouting after three hours, while Magix-S allows for longer working times; it has an extended pot-life of three to four hours and a 16-hour set time for ‘next day’ grouting.
Magix can reportedly be used to fix various tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and mosaics. It’s suitable for installations over solid substrates, as well as those with limited movement and/or vibration, and underfloor heating systems. Magix is also apparently unaffected by frost after setting and can also be used in areas subjected to prolonged wet conditions.
Tilemaster’s adhesives are offered alongside a range of 'user-friendly' grouts and floor preparation products.
