With a warm welcome
Apart from aesthetics, entrance matting has other useful functions
BOULEVARD 7000 from contract interiors specialist Gradus is said by the company to be a high-performance secondary barrier mat that features what’s described as an attractive linear design.
The product is manufactured from 100% solution dyed nylon yarn and incorporates a heavy scraper fibre which provides optimum dirt removal and moisture retention properties.
The Boulevard 7000 range has been designed for use in commercial office, education, healthcare and retail environments and reflects current design and colour trends.
Boulevard 7000 is suitable for use in areas of a building prone to soil and moisture damage, such as lifts and canteen areas or in areas of heavy wear, such as reception areas or corridors.
It can be used in conjunction with a primary entrance mat or in some situations it can be used as standalone matting in entrances and access points.
Supplied in a 2m-wide sheet format, Boulevard 7000 is available in a choice of four colours comprising two greys; Black Ash and Gray Birch, a brown (Hazelnut) and a red (Red Oak).
Karen Burman, product manager for Gradus, comments: ‘Boulevard 7000 offers an aesthetically pleasing, durable and versatile solution, making it well suited to a wide range of contract environments, including commercial office buildings and education facilities.
‘Barrier matting forms the start of the journey through a building. Our systems help minimise the risk of slip accidents on hard floor finishes and maintain the aesthetics of surrounding floorcoverings, by reducing the amount of dirt and moisture tracked in from foot and wheeled traffic.
‘When correctly maintained, this in turn reduces maintenance costs and prolongs the life of the surrounding floorcoverings.’
Boulevard 7000 comes with a ten-year wear warranty. The range is featured in the Gradus Barrier Matting Systems Catalogue Edition 4.

COBA Flooring has expanded its range once again following the introduction of Precision Inlaid Logo Matting to its custom-branded collection of entrance mats.
Logomat Precision is said by the company to offer a luxurious, durable and functional alternative to its traditional printed counterparts with a high-quality finish, while effectively promoting a brand image.
This new capability follows the installation of robotic technology for precision cutting at Coba Flooring’s Leicestershire based manufacturing facility. Any brand design, from the simple to the intricate, can be reproduced with an exceptional standard of clarity, the company claims.
Using high quality polypropylene materials, the process involves precision cutting each component of the design. These components are then inlaid into the mat during the final assembly process. There is an extensive colour palette to choose from, with unlimited options for creativity, Coba says.
Logomat Precision is available as Precision Nib (Needlepunch) and Precision Loop (Needlefelt). Precision Nib features a heavyweight pile which, while looking plush, is sufficiently abrasive to scrape and wipe footwear, while Precision Loop effectively wipes and absorbs moisture, the company adds.
Both options are hardwearing, says Coba, making them suitable for busy entrance areas and both are available with edging for looselay applications, or without edging for recessed matwell installations.
Edges won’t unravel or fray.
A new brochure dedicated entirely to Coba Flooring’s Logomat collection is available featuring precision inlaid mats as well as printed promotional logomats.
FOLLOWING on the heels of a major ‘refresh’ and extension of its Coral textile entrance matting collection, Forbo has launched Coral Click, an ‘off-the-shelf’ entrance flooring option supplied in what it describes as an exceptionally versatile modular format.
With this tough, engineered (yet metal-free) matting, Forbo says it’s effectively bridging a gap between its other Coral textile ‘wipe-off’ mats and its very heavy duty Nuway entrance flooring ranges which boast aluminum constructions.
Designed for use on its own or in conjunction with other Coral sheet and tile products as part of what it says is a beautifully colour coordinated interior entrance system, Coral Click is suitable for use in any type of building where affordable and effective soil and moisture removal is needed.
Because it has no metal components, Click is particularly suitable for use in supermarkets, department stores and other retail environments as it won’t interfere with electronic-tagging systems located in the entrance area.
‘Its attractive, professional appearance, colour range and resistance to heavy foot traffic, wheel chairs, shopping carts and luggage trolleys make Click an ideal choice for other premises such as hotels, restaurants, office buildings and schools,’ says Forbo.
The colour palette includes five colourways from the Coral Brush range - Vulcan black, hurricane grey, shark grey, cardinal red and stratos blue.
The Coral Brush inserts, which account for 70% of the mat’s surface area, are all made from 100% Econyl regenerated yarn. The sixth option in the range is a plain Coral Click insert that can be used as perimeter fill in matwells, or to create an initial entrance zone where it will remove coarse dirt from the soles of shoes.
Coral Click tiles are supplied in 24x24cm connectable tile formats for ease of handling and storage and each box contains sufficient tiles to cover an area of 1.37sq m (4pcs). There are two mat depths available - 12mm and 17mm – both of which have a closed construction to avoid the risk of heel trap.
Designed for rapid and straightforward installation without the need for special tools or equipment, Coral Click tiles can be easily cut and shaped onsite to accommodate any configuration and the interlocking elements are simply ‘clicked’ together using a rubber, nylon or metal hammer.
Forbo says because Coral Click is so quick and easy to fit, and can even be loose-laid in large areas, clients benefit as their matting can be installed without disruption to their normal operations.
Other benefits are said to include the ease of cleaning and the speed with which individual tiles can be replaced in the unlikely event that they become damaged.
Keen to encourage contractors to promote and install this latest addition to the Coral portfolio, Forbo is launching Coral Click at the special introductory price of just £99sq m and offering companies a free Amazon Echo Dot with their first order (minimum ten boxes/13.7sq m).
The promotion runs from 4 April-31 August 2107, and terms and conditions apply.
