WOOL Week held during October reportedly received extensive backing fromthe retail world and consumers. The promotion was part of the newfive-year CAMPAIGN FOR WOOL, convened by HRH The Prince of Wales.
It is a cross industry coalition to raise the profile of real wool as the natural sustainable fibre for fashion and interiors.
Designed as a rallying call to the international textile industry to put wool back in the spotlight, it has to date enjoyed support from over 50 brands, 400 retail stores and thousands of carpet showrooms, according to Ian Hartley, ceo of the British Wool Marketing Board.
Mr Hartley reports that the campaign has had an amazing effect, having both inspired new interest and revitalised long standing users of wool.
‘CfW has created a new dawn for the fibre in fashion, interiors and the built environment and shown that if
we work together with our global colleagues, we can give wool the future it deserves,’Mr Hartley says.
