‘Porta-Nails provides quality and precision’
Porta-Nails was established in December 1979 and is the manufacturer of the wood flooring installation system, the Porta-Nailer. Porta-Nails also manufactures hardwood floor fastening tools.
In 2012, QEP acquired the Porta-Nails brand as a strategic fit within its business. QEP describes itself as the leading supplier of tiling and flooring tools and accessories supplying to more than 70 countries worldwide.
Over the years, ways to install solid wooden floors have changed with more fitters using alternative methods. However, the company says many companies and individuals still prefer to use the Porta-Nail products because of its quality and precision.
‘That said, Porta-Nails has continuously been working on an innovative NPD programme to update its tools to better suit the changing methods of today’s marketplace to increase ease of installation,’ the company says.
‘The new Pneumatic Nailer has the ability to angle and vertically nail with a unique shoe configuration, which makes it the first machine which enables the fitter to install nails both ways using the same tool.’
The company adds: ‘The distribution of the Porta-Nail range is now being managed from our production and warehousing facility in Mold, XPS Foam, the only UK manufacturer of XPS underlay.
