SPECIFIER’S GUIDE TO FLOORING LAUNCHED AT CDW

At a star-studded event , The Specifier’s Guide to Flooring was launched in the UK. Officially unveiled at Shaw Contract’s showroom during Clerkenwell Design Week, the new ‘definitive guide’ will provide a specification tool for architects, designers, FMs and specifiers on all aspects of flooring.

Following in the footsteps of highly successful sister publication – The Specifier’s Guide to Tile & Stone – the new flooring-focused guide includes commentary from the most prominent names in the industry, as well as technical analysis and inspirational imagery - from global case study references to exploded material make-ups.

Its official launch in London’s design district included a presentation from Fiona Bowman MBA CBIFM, FCMI senior FM consultant.

Fiona praised the new resource for its ‘compelling, substantive, clear and concise content; an invaluable guide for the complex specification process’.

‘Flooring, far from being near the bottom of the list when projects are initiated, should be near the top because the correct specification can make all the difference to an installation,’ Fiona told the event attendees.

‘FMs seem so far away from the specification process they need to be engaged, educated and informed. The Specifier’s Guide to Flooring is a fantastic first step on that road and I’m hoping as a result of this launch we can have an event especially for FMs to help them gain more understanding and control of what should be specified in their building.’

Simon Jackson, design consultant and sjjdc founder described it as an ‘expert at your elbow’.
