Due to be launched in Spring 2012, it is being established to provide first-class training for floor fitters in order to raise standards, drive loyalty to the Quick-Step brand and to encourage floor fitters to become true ambassadors for Quick-Step products.


In the role, you will be responsible for developing the Quick-Step Training Academy and consolidating Unilin Flooring’s reputation as a leading and innovative company. Assuming responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Academy, you will work in close cooperation with the Technical and Marketing Teams in the development and delivery of both practical and theory-base training courses for installers of wood, laminate, engineered flooring
products and accessories resulting in the installers achieving accreditations and becoming true brand ambassadors.


In addition to the training aspects, your role will have a customerfacing element in terms of promoting the Academy through presentations and meetings with customers and prospects which will include contractors, retailers, distributors and installers.


Your experience should have been gained in the flooring industry with an excellent knowledge of floor laying (laminate and engineered wood products) which will allow you to quickly build credibility with installers. Your first-class technical and practical flooring knowledge will ideally be supported by a recognised floor fitting qualification
and you are likely to have progressed into a role with responsibility for training.


Previous experience of running a business or cost centre would be desirable, although additional management training will be provided to candidates who possess the relevant practical experience coupled with excellent communication skills, ambition and the drive to succeed in this exciting opportunity.

This diverse role involves working on projects from targeting the architects to gain product specification, liaising with main contractors and end users through to working closely with flooring contractors and wholesalers to promote Heckmondwike products.

 

The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will be self- motivated, organised and able to manage multiple projects. This is an important role with a high degree of autonomy and gives an excellent opportunity to contribute to the continued success of the company.

Previous sales experience is essential and experience of selling flooring or specification selling would be a distinct advantage.

The EU Technical Services Consultant will need to be a proactive and confident self starter in order to establish excellent working relationships with the European commercial team, customers, the NPD/Manufacturing team and third party contractors. Language skills in German or Spanish would be desirable.

The ideal candidate will have a background in either housing developments, retail shop fitting or residential care homes. Confident communication skills are essential, with strong written and spoken English. CSCS and SMSTS are required and hours are 9 - 5.30 with some out of hours work. Proven track record of completed projects.

References will be required.
