THE redesign of the offices for Veolia Nuclear Solutions by Workplace Interiors aimed to create an open-plan environment that encouraged a new flexible working culture for all staff members.
As part of this transformation, pedestal storage was replaced with locker spaces to provide a cleaner look in the office for example.
However, it was important to ensure different zones in the office were still defined and transitioned successfully into meeting rooms. Shaw Contract’s Auxiliary carpet tile collection, made in the UK, was described as an ideal solution for these as different styles could be combined for zoning.
The design firm was also given creative freedom with colour which they used to great effect with plenty of choices in warm and cool co-ordinating colours in Auxiliary.
Workplace Interiors opted for colour Coral from the Living Systems collection in the main welcome areas in the offices.
Says Shaw Contract: ‘Not only does it provide a luxurious feeling and texture for visitors, but also is in keeping with the client company’s use of ‘Veolia’ red so provided a familiar link to the company’s strong branding.
‘The Living Systems and Auxiliary collections are Cradle to Cradle certified. Shaw Contract’s Rigid Core LVT was also installed to combine with the carpet tiles in key areas.’
