Forbo’s carpet tile portfolio gets new addition

DESIGNED, manufactured, and stocked in the UK, Tessera Struktur 1 is the latest addition to Forbo Flooring Systems’ carpet tile portfolio. Featuring a flat weave texture, owing to its micro-tuft construction, the ‘pure aesthetic’ of Tessera Struktur 1 is inspired by the growing trend for Scandinavian design. The collection will also reportedly help create a balanced ambiance in many interior spaces.

New to Forbo, the microtuft construction of Tessera Struktur 1 provides what’s described as a subtle and compact aesthetic, but it’s also durable. The collection is said to be suitable for any environment that’s subjected to heavy traffic, including those in the office, higher education, retail, leisure, and hospitality sectors.

The collection is available in 18 colourways, comprising a host of neutral tones such as greys and beiges, as well as muted shades of green, yellow, orange, and red to allow the creation of softer and warmer spaces.

Chris Rand, senior marketing executive at Forbo Flooring Systems, commented: ‘The simple and stripped back style of Scandinavian design is continuing to influence architecture and interior design, and it’s a trend that’s growing in popularity because of the calming spaces that it’s able to create. Every so often we need to pause, reflect, and take a moment to focus on what’s really important – and that’s the design idea behind Struktur 1.

‘Owing to its micro-tuft construction, the carpet tile has a unique look and feel, where sometimes less is more. With a 17dB acoustic value for reduced noise transmission, Tessera Struktur 1 can help architects and interior designers to achieve their vision of creating sophisticated and minimalist environments.

‘Its simplicity allows ease of combining with other furnishings and the carpet tile can even be installed alongside our Allura Flex LVT, using the same tackifier, and Allura Ease adhesive-free vinyl tiles without the need for transition strips, to create integrated flooring schemes.’

In the construction of the carpet tiles, 100% solution-dyed polyamide 6 is used for Class 33 durability and colour fastness, says the company.

‘Tessera tufted carpet tiles are manufactured using 100% renewable energy and Struktur 1 contains 65% recycled content by weight. It also meets the Ska rating criteria for M12 soft floorcoverings in office, retail, and higher education schemes.’
