New nora by Interface rubber flooring features ‘contemporary, urban designs’

INTERFACE has unveiled its latest nora by Interface rubber flooring designs – norament 926 castello and norament 926 kivo – featuring what it describes as a modern design aesthetic. Designers today are furnishing interiors with a lived-in, relaxed and chic mood. The urban look is back in vogue, and the latest norament 926 castello and norament 926 kivo are said to meet the creative requirements of modern, high-class areas.

In architecture, good design withstands the test of time. Architectural landmarks can reinvent themselves alongside ever-evolving styles and build bridges across eras. Similarly, norament 926 castello – a 3.5mm-thick floorcovering – is intended to be timeless in its design, with what’s described as marbling reminiscent of stylish limestone surfaces, adding ‘a touch of classic luxury to the surroundings’. Each tile is reportedly unique and features nora’s newly developed two-tone surface design with two different gloss levels. The elegant colour palette includes eight warm shades of grey and beige.

‘Apart from its robustness, norament 926 castello performs particularly well in the fields of acoustics and ergonomics,’ says Dirk Oswald, head of product & brand management nora product lines. ‘With our permanently elastic material, less impact sound is generated compared to other resilient or hard flooring surfaces. This minimises distracting noises and improves the acoustics in interiors, which is a great advantage, especially in high traffic areas. At the same time, the floor offers significantly more standing and walking comfort. People therefore benefit from less back and joint pain, and studies show reduction in fatigue symptoms.’

norament 926 castello can reportedly be installed in the classic way, with wet adhesive, but is also available as an nTx version for an even faster installation.

In modern architecture, inspiring ideas often arise from authentic, original elements. Today’s highly creative workspaces tend to prefer referencing the industrial past, true to the minimalist motto ‘less is more’.

Says the company: ‘norament 926 kivo harmonises with this modern, classical atmosphere. Its irregular grain design with a slightly structured two-tone surface was inspired by concrete and gives interiors an authentic urban and industrial look. The flooring adapts seamlessly to any mixture of steel, wood and exposed brick and is the ideal foundation for creative furnishing ideas. The 2.7mm-thick floor is available in eight colours, ranging from warm beige to cool grey-blue tones.’

Dirk Oswald added: ‘This new rubber flooring offers many advantages of norament and is at the same time ideally suitable for representative areas, including office spaces, conference rooms and cafeterias. Here, proven nora quality and modern appearance go hand in hand and make it possible to create a fascinating, functional industrial look.’

norament 926 castello and norament 926 kivo, like every flooring product Interface sells – carpet, LVT, and rubber flooring – are certified carbon neutral through the Carbon Neutral Floors programme, at no extra cost to customers, the company says.

‘The Weinheim rubber plant is continuously working to avoid or reduce CO2 emissions and thus further reduce its own CO2 footprint. The unavoidable CO2 emissions are compensated by the acquirement of emission reduction certificates, with which climate protection projects are financed.’
