F BALL & Co’s Styccobond F73 PLUS solvent-free, fibre-reinforced adhesive

F BALL & Co’s Styccobond F73 PLUS solvent-free, fibre-reinforced adhesive is formulated for installing floorcoverings in internal and external heavy-duty settings. The latest advancements in adhesives technology have enabled F Ball to create a one-part, moisture-curing alternative to polyurethane and epoxy adhesives, which is also solvent and isocyanate-free, says the company.

F Ball continues: ‘Styccobond F73 PLUS has been developed to provide the high bond strength required to hold a wide range of textile and resilient floorcoverings, including rubber, vinyl, linoleum and synthetic grass, firmly in place in areas that will be subject to heavy loads and high foot traffic, as well as surface water, such as entranceways. It offers high initial grab and, once cured, it’s resistant to water, oil and grease.’

As the adhesive is fibre-reinforced, the lateral movement of floorcoverings when placed into the adhesive is limited, an advantage when installing vinyl tiles or planks over large areas.

As well as being a one-part adhesive, meaning no mixing and less waste, the adhesive is also said to be easy to apply and fast curing, with an initial set time of 90 minutes. The fast setting properties reportedly allow welding of sheet floorcoverings to take place from as little as two hours.

Concludes F Ball: ‘Styccobond F73 PLUS can be trowel-applied to a wide variety of sound, smooth subfloors, including concrete and sand/cement screeds, as well as Stopgap levelling compounds.’
