Beautiful hardwearing wood flooring

THE Solid Wood Flooring Company describes itself as an innovative, leading manufacturer of sustainable engineered and solid wood flooring. Using the latest production techniques and machinery, it says it creates beautiful wood flooring that is hardwearing and long-lasting. Its products are sourced from FSC certified or PEFC certified forests.

The company goes on to say:
Our team is a dedicated group of experts who can help with any level of the flooring specification from conception, subfloor build-up, sustainability, performance, fitting advice and aftercare.

Nationwide delivery is available with lead times of less than a week, thanks to our large stocks of herringbone, chevron and plank flooring. Our speciality is in large development projects, which means we will work with you to create a product that will not only exceed requirements but also work with budget constraints. We look to provide a solution to your specific project need.

Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. We continually look for ways to make sourcing ethically sourced wood flooring easier for our clients. Our first commitment to the environment is to only source materials from certified forests, so we work closely with both the FSC and PEFC. Another way is by partnering with Gone West and their mission to replant forests around the world. We’ve currently pledged 4,000 oak trees to be planted each year in the UK.

That means for every tree we use we replant it and add three more. Choosing an engineered wood floor is another way we tackle sustainability with the added benefit of engineered products being more advanced than solid alternatives and consume around five times less hardwood. The result is a more stable, engineered, real hardwood floor with less impact on the environment. We still offer solid wood, but only on a made to order basis.

We stand by our supply chain management skills, even in the wake of Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic. Large commercial and residential projects (like projects in South Bank Tower, South Bank Place, Roman House & West End Gate of Berkeley Homes, Riverlight for St James, along with high-end residential blocks in Kensington high street and museums) require careful planning and co-ordination between the large number of disciplines needed to complete such complex projects. This is true now more than ever as strict budget parameters and client expectations mean there’s very little room for error.

These projects often have specific demanding client requirements with short lead times. It takes a wealth of experience to deliver a quality product on time allowing for variances in the programme. We hold extensive ranges of stock in our southeast England warehouse to ensure large orders can be delivered to site within three working days. Normally we will hold 20% additional stock over and above the projected requirement to cater for such events. Of course, lead times are increased if we’re making a bespoke product for your project.

With the skills, tools and transport to complete any given assignment we are sure we can offer both you and your clients the level of service and commitment you have come to expect. Our production line you see pictured below enables us to produce 100,000sq m of high-quality flooring per month.

We’ll help you ensure projects meet both the timeframe and come in on budget. One of the crucial roles in such projects is the supplier and as suppliers and manufacturers we have been involved in many successful completed projects both in the UK and abroad. Our wooden flooring is specifically designed for the UK market due to our specialist knowledge and experience of working with architects and interior designers.

We pride ourselves on dealing fairly with our clients, always seeking to build lasting relationships. Our website features case studies and galleries showcasing some of the projects we’ve worked on over the years. We also have a freely available technical library and a growing video collection which includes technical data on our flooring, openly shared testing analysis from third party laboratories and of course help and guidance on fitting wood flooring, dealing with subfloor issues, working with underfloor heating and guides on herringbone and chevron parquet.

As manufacturers, we can produce bespoke flooring for projects of a certain size. This is in addition to the vast range of products we currently have in stock in the south of England. We currently have more than 300 different products with stocks usually in excess of 400sq m. Delivery of stocked products is usually available in three working days to most of the mainland of the UK, extending up to 7-10 days for Northern Scotland and Ireland.

From our homepage you can access our free-to-use room visualiser. You can choose from pre-set room images or securely upload a photo of a room you’re working on and (using the magic of technology) visualise each of our flooring products in that space. You can then request free samples or contact our team to discuss any questions you may have.
