Wood & laminate flooring - IDS
THE Tuscan Forte wood flooring range, part of the Tuscan Collection from IDS, has reportedly been enhanced with lacquer technology from Tressert to ‘enrich the visual and textural appeal of the wood’s natural grain, while assuring surface protection and durability’.
The lightweight formulation of Tressert lacquer, an ‘industry respected’ German brand, means Tuscan Forte flooring is said to retain the distinct, textural patterning of the woodgrain, whether brushed, sawn or handscraped, ‘giving it an authentic, hardwearing finish’.
The lacquer can be easily reapplied to ensure continuous protection from scratches and spillages, reportedly assuring the suitability of Tuscan Forte wood flooring for domestic and light commercial use.
The Forte range offers in-vogue whitewashed woodgrain, modish grey and classic oak among the six ‘elegant’ colours that are claimed to offer the character and warmth of solid wood while being straightforward to fit, thanks to the Välinge 5GC profile technology which is said to assure fast, easy and strong click installation.
‘The 150mm wide Barley, Barn Oak White Washed, Light Grey, Natural White Oak, Toffee and Truffle planks come with a choice of brushed, handscraped and saw-marked textures for greater authenticity and visual appeal, which is further enhanced only by the addition of the Tressert lacquer,’ says the company.
The range’s multiply construction is said to provide a highly stable flooring solution that is suitable for use with various underlays and is reportedly compatible with water-piped underfloor heating systems.
‘Tuscan Forte is part of the wider Tuscan Wood Flooring Collection, which offers a beautiful
range of stunning surfaces and finishes to suit traditional and contemporary interiors,’ says the company.
It continues: ‘The complete Tuscan collection offers 35 wood flooring options including a wide range of oaks, fashionable greys, smoked woods and herringbones to suit all tastes. Offering wide design and installation flexibility, Tuscan includes multiply and 3-ply structures with a combination of seven textures and four surface finishes.
‘Tuscan’s Vintage Classic range offer the rustic, time worn effect of an original wood floor from yesteryear while Vintage Ravine cleverly recreates the distinctive look of reclaimed wood, making it ideal for use in both modern and traditional interiors. Meanwhile, the versatile Grandé range can be installed directly over existing floor joists, meaning it is perfect for refurbishment or renovation projects, while its extra-wide planks instill a sense of luxury.’
According to IDS, the elegance of a traditional parquet or herringbone floor can be created with Tuscan’s Modelli range of flooring to form a focal point in any room, while Terreno captures all the character of a solid wood floor at a fraction of the cost. The classic Strato collection is available in two variations, Strato Classic offering a choice of natural wood looks and Strato Warm, which comes in a range of colour tones to create a relaxed yet stylish look and feel.
‘The Tuscan flooring collection is 100% FSC-certified and Tuscan also prides itself on fully vetting all suppliers of the timber used in its products to ensure sustainability at every level. The range also comes with the assurance of a 25-year warranty.’
In addition to engineered wood flooring, IDS says it offers a breadth of flooring options to suit all tastes and budgets including a wide range of laminate flooring brands. It’s responded to the growing popularity of luxury vinyl flooring (LVT) with the Malmo range, which is available in a range of stick-down and Rigid LVT options.
‘Malmo Rigid has recently passed independent performance testing to prove its suitability with a water-piped UFH system.
‘We offer flooring products to cover residential and commercial applications. The company prides itself on its extensive stock portfolio within its warehouses that cover more than 1m sq ft, enabling it to support small or large projects nationally and regionally.
‘In addition to this, we have an envied delivery service with a fleet of more than 100 vehicles to service customers on a 24-48-hour basis.’
