Aberdeen Science Centre, Scotland

Construction work by Banchory based Bancon Construction included an extension and creation of a new mezzanine floor, almost doubling the exhibition space. Natural light floods into the building thanks to an exposed roof structure, creating an airy and modern interior, with bespoke corporate meeting spaces and a new café. Working with the site team and interfacing trades, Veitchi was able to ensure that the setting out of the curved sweeping architects’ design was achieved. Setting out and cutting in the lines and colours to ebb and flow as it moves between the exhibits gave the fitters a great opportunity to educate their apprentices on skills not seen in their everyday education.
