Best use of flooring in a Hotel

Shire Flooring Ltd and Forbo Flooring Systems

At the Marriott Hotel in Milton Gate, Oxford, Shire Flooring Ltd used 13 floorlayers over a 12-week project starting in June 2018. Products from Forbo Flooring Systems, Bolon and Taiping Carpet were used and three problems were encountered and overcome including uneven floors and a corridor carpet issue.

Loughton Contracts and Alarwool Carpets and Brintons

Working on the refurb of a central London hotel built in the 1800s, Kimpton Fitzroy, threw up plenty of challenges. On a project lasting from August 2017 to November 2018, and with an average of five installers onsite each day, the final result is defect-free, health and safety compliant and sympathetic to the original interior.

Wilton Carpets and Colour Bank

Woven axminster and tufted carpets from Wilton Carpets brought a sense of occasion to the new Orangery of Rushton Hall Hotel & Spa in the first quarter of 2018. One problem overcome was that the carpet’s pattern had to accommodate the walls of the 16th century building, which aren’t straight and true.

Bona and Timbered Flooring

Over a week period, three fitters and two finishers from Timbered Flooring used Bona products for the installation and finishing of a 20mm engineered, dark-fumed oak parquet floor at London’s new urban hotel, Assembly London.
