Flooring Apprentice of the Year competition launched
The Flooring Apprentice of the Year competition, which is jointly promoted by the CFA and CFJ, is well established within the flooring industry and highlights the hard work and achievements of flooring apprentices across the UK. It is made possible through the generosity of sponsors from throughout the sector, who show that they value apprenticeships and believe in the importance of training within the industry.
The winner for 2018 was Jordan Gayle from A G Flooring Ltd in Manchester, who said that it was amazing to win and it had given him even more motivation to learn and improve.
The CFA are encouraging even more people to enter the 2019 competition: So, if you are an employer with a flooring apprentice who deserves recognition for his/her efforts, then please nominate them. The competition is open to all apprentices and employers do NOT have to be a member of the CFA. The closing date for the online submission is 28 Feb 2019.
Training providers: do you have an apprentice floorlayer who stands out from the crowd? Ensure that they enter the competition as ‘you have to be in it to win it’.
And flooring apprentices – do you have what it takes to be next year's winner? What would you do with a cash prize of £1,000? You can enter yourself – so don't be shy (you do not need to be nominated by your employer or training tutor, but they will need to provide you with a reference). Start taking photos of your work and get that case study ready!
Information on entering the competition can be found here: www. cfa.org.uk/Flooring-Training-Apprentice-of-the-Year-Competition/ or call the CFA office on 0115 941 1126.
