Flooring meets AI: The next step in product visualisation

THE way people choose flooring products and other interior design items is changing rapidly and one company at the heart of this shift is VEEUZE, a German AI company that has become a European leader in product visualisation and configuration.
Although VEEUZE as a brand was officially created in 2022, following the merger of Active Online and Esign, the company’s expertise stretches back more than 20 years. Today it forms part of the UK-listed Eleco Group, a specialist in software solutions for the built environment. What sets VEEUZE apart is its combination of cutting-edge AI technology, visual marketing tools and in
depth industry experience, which supports retailers, manufacturers, builders and designers across Europe (and increasingly beyond) in their daily work. Veeuze optimises the way they offer products and helps to streamline their sales processes.
‘We provide software for product visualisation and marketing for a wide range of sectors, with a strong focus on flooring but also wall coverings through to decorative fabrics and window furnishings,’ explains Tim Bates, international account manager. ‘The real USP is that users can upload high resolution photos of rooms and see products in their own space. This makes the buying process far more engaging, persuasive, and shorter.’
From flooring to fabrics and everything in between
VEEUZE’s reach is wide. Its customers include small and medium-sized retailers, large online distributors, wholesalers, manufacturers, and even tradespeople working in residential and commercial environments. Flooring companies are a key market, but the company’s software is
equally at home supporting paint brands, wallpaper producers and window covering specialists.
The flagship solutions are both off the-shelf and bespoke, depending on client needs. Materialo is a ready-made application designed for small to medium businesses that want to boost their online presence with high-quality product experiences. InteriorStudio is a fully customisable room configurator, built in partnership with manufacturers to create a tool tailored exactly to their product ranges.
Other specialist solutions include ActiveServices, a high-end scanning service that produces incredibly realistic digital materials; AssetCloud, an API that enables seamless integration of visuals and data into a customer’s own systems; and MarketingManager, a powerful product information management (PIM) system that centralises data for use across sales and marketing teams.
AI takes centre stage
At this year’s Harrogate Flooring Show, VEEUZE demonstrated how artificial intelligence is pushing product visualisation to the next level. ‘Thanks to AI, customers can upload photos of their
own rooms and see products seamlessly integrated in that context in real time.’ says Tim. ‘The idea isn’t entirely new, but the way we’re refining and improving it makes it something special on the market.’
Features such as side-by-side product comparisons, 3D texture viewing, and surface editing tools give end users a much deeper and more realistic sense of how a design might look in their homes
or commercial spaces. ‘The flooring configurator in particular is popular, as customers can experiment with different laying patterns, textures, and colours before making their decision,’ he adds.

So what makes VEEUZE different from other tech providers in this space?
According to Tim, it comes down to expertise and experience. ‘We’ve been focused on
improving customer experience in the interior industry for more than 20 years. Our
customers don’t just want a generic interface; they need applications tailored to their
requirements, and that’s exactly what we deliver.
The results speak for themselves:
VEEUZE has delivered hundreds of tailor made solutions in 22 countries, mainly covering residential and commercial premises, but also covering sectors as diverse as transport, health and education.
Looking ahead
For VEEUZE, the future is about building on its position as a thought leader in this European market while also expanding internationally. This means leveraging its industry knowledge and expertise in AI and real-time product visualisation, while also exploring how it can further develop its existing platform with new technologies.
‘A visualiser used to be a ‘nice-tohave’, Tim notes. ‘Now, with advances in AI and digital marketing, it’s become a must-have. Tools like ours bring businesses closer to their customers, and that’s shaping the future of the entire furnishings and interior design industry.’
