Roberts launches first wood and laminate underlay range

SUPPORTING professional installers with its ‘world-class flooring tools’ since 1938, Roberts has launched a range of what it describes as high-performance underlays made in the UK.

For more than 80 years, Roberts, described as a quality brand of QEP, has been making ‘top quality flooring tools trusted by installers across the world’.

For the first time, it says it’s bringing its well-proven reliability to what lies beneath the floor in a new range of wood and laminate underlays.

Designed with Roberts’ ‘usual attention to the all-important details’, these underlays are manufactured in the UK using recyclable XPS Foam. According to the company they ‘deliver faultless performance time after time, the range includes options to cover every subfloor and provide all types of wood and laminate flooring with a stable, durable platform’.

Says the company: ‘The range opens with the Roberts 2.5mm Underlay, a fan-fold board that levels out floor imperfections, delivers impact sound reduction, thermal insulation and moisture-resistance. Simple to install, 2.5mm Underlay is suited to most domestic areas and works particularly well with underfloor heating systems.

‘Roberts 3mm PLUS adds further protection in its fan-fold board. With an added foil vapour barrier that has an overlap and integrated adhesive tape, the underlay protects wood and laminate flooring from moisture ingress so is suitable for concrete subfloors. Just like its cousin, it works well with underfloor heating systems.

‘Also in a fan-fold form, Roberts 4mm PLUS lets professional installers take underlay performance even further in high traffic environments. Levelling out subfloors, delivering underfoot comfort and sound absorption in one easy to install package, Roberts 4mm PLUS also has integral tape, overlap and foil vapour barrier.

‘At the top of the new Roberts wood and laminate underlay range is Roberts 5mm Underlay. The moisture-resistant boards are easy to handle and cut, making them the choice for flooring professionals wanting the very best in reliable, quality underlay beneath their wood and laminate installations. Roberts 5mm PLUS has excellent sound absorption, thermal insulation and levelling properties.’
