OPENED in 1972 and described as ‘the first large shopping complex of its kind in Britain’, Nottingham’s Victoria Centre recently underwent some renovation.

Princebuild were the main contractors on the project, tasked with reconfiguring existing retail space to accommodate a new retailer.

The transformation involved intricate design, structural alterations, and essential upgrades, positioning the centre as a more versatile and modern retail space.

The shopping centre remained open while renovations were carried out. Time constraints, limited access beneath the shopping centre and logistical challenges regarding deliveries for neighbouring shops all had to be considered.

Originally specified as a Traditional Sand and Cement screed, Cemfloor C25 was the screed of choice on this project.

Says the company: ‘Its many benefits, such as speed of installation, and its fast drying time, were instrumental in achieving project completion in four days. Excellent preparation work by installer CSC Screeding ensured a trouble-free pour. The product was supplied by Cemfloor Channel Partner Doncaster Quickmix.’
