Mapei extends Zero Line with three ‘bestselling’ adhesives

MAPEI is extending its Zero Line with the introduction of three ‘bestselling flooring adhesives’. Manufactured in the UK – with CO2 reportedly fully offset in the entire lifecycle – the adhesives are also said to benefit from very low VOC EMICODE: EC1 Plus certified formulations, ‘providing a safe, high-performance solution for contractors and specifiers’.

Mapei says the new Zero Line introductions will provide safe and sustainable low-odour solutions for all types of resilient and textile floorcoverings.

‘Universal adhesive, Ultrabond Eco V4 Evolution Zero is a ready to use and easy to apply adhesive, with a strong rapid initial tack and a long open time. It can be used with PVC, LVT and rubber flooring, as well as textile floor and wall coverings. It’s also suitable in wet lay or pressure-sensitive applications and for use with underfloor heating.’

Continues the company: ‘Specifically developed for LVT floors, the second product – Ultrabond Eco 4 LVT Zero – is a fibre-reinforced, high temperature adhesive that guarantees exceptional performance in terms of adhesion and dimensional stability. Product features include easy application, with low to no waiting time, excellent initial grab and peel strength and high sheer resistance.’

The third product – Ultrabond Eco Tack TX+ Zero – is a solvent-free and non-staining carpet tile tackifier, says Mapei. ‘The fast-track acrylic adhesive creates a permanently tacky film, allowing for the easy removal and replacement of carpet tiles. It can also be used to prevent loose lay LVT, textile flooring and carpet underlay from slipping.’

All three products are certified to Blauer Engle DE-UZ113 and M1 Emission Class, and the adhesives are castor compliant in accordance with EN 12529.

The Zero Line series demonstrates Mapei’s commitment to the planet, to people and to biodiversity. CO2 emissions measured throughout the product’s lifecycle using Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology, verified and certified with EPDs, have been offset through the acquisition of certified carbon credits in support of forestry protection projects.

The Zero Line currently includes products from Mapei’s ceramic and stone materials, cleaning, maintenance and protection, mortars and masonry restoration, waterproofing and coatings lines.
