COMPLETE with competitive walk-on times and drying times, Tremco smoothing compounds are designed to save flooring contractors valuable time and money, says the company.
A smoothing compound commonly referred to as a ‘self-levelling compound’ or ‘floor screed’ is used in the preparation of laying most floorcoverings to create a smooth and level surface.

Tremco’s SX Smooth Range
Choosing the right smoothing compound is critical. Tremco’s range of smoothing compounds are developed to ensure you have a well prepared base for your floorcoverings.
SX100 Renovation Screed
The SX100 is a fibre reinforced, self-levelling flooring compound designed for interior application to existing floors prior to the application of floorcoverings including vinyl, carpets, ceramic tiles and wood.
Features include:
- Fast application and minimum down time
- Can be pumped up to 2,000sq m per day
- Contains special fibres to give excellent crack resistance
- Protein-free
SX300 TREMSmooth HP
The SX300 TREMSmooth HP is a free flowing, self-smoothing, protein free, latex levelling compound with outstanding adhesion, flexibility and moisture resistance.
Features include: - Easy to apply free flowing smoothing compound
- Moisture Tolerant: can be used for pre-smoothing under a Tremco DPM
- Suitable for use on floors with underfloor heating
- Protein free
SX302 TREMSmooth MT
SX302 TREMSmooth MT has been developed for use in domestic, light commercial and light industrial environments as an underlayment, prior to application of carpet, wood and vinyl flooring.
Features include: - May accept foot traffic after approximately 90 minutes
- Ready to receive floorcoverings in eight hours
- Moisture tolerant for use under surface damp proof membranes
- Suitable for use on floors with underfloor heating
SX600 High Performance Rapid Set Smoothing Compound
SX600NA is a protein-free, moisture tolerant smoothing underlayment that can be used over old adhesive residue in interior applications. There’s no additional need for a primer if it’s applied directly to a Tremco Damp Proof Membrane.
Features include: - Walk on after two hours install floorcoverings after four hours
- Suitable for use over most adhesive residues
- Moisture tolerant – can be used under a DPM
- Suitable for use over underfloor heating systems
