Tracey Glew takes over as new FeRFA ceo

FeRFA says it’s delighted to announce the appointment of Tracey Glew, managing director of The Preparation Group, as its new ceo.

She takes over, as Mark Spowage, who has been ceo since October 2018, moves on to new challenges. ‘FeRFA would like to take the opportunity to thank Mark for his much valued contribution and leadership of FeRFA, particularly during the last two challenging years. His technical expertise and good humour will be missed and the FeRFA board wishes him every success in his future endeavours.’

Tracey Glew founded The Preparation Group in 1991 and is described as having a wealth of industry acumen, expertise, and professional experience. She has developed her business over 30 years, so that it’s reportedly today a recognised and respected ‘one stop shop’ for surface preparation in the UK.

The Preparation Group has been a FeRFA member since 1997 and Tracey has sat on the FeRFA Council since 2014. ‘This long and dedicated service has given her an unrivalled knowledge of the association and the whole resin flooring sector. Between 2016 and 2017, Tracey also served as FeRFA’s first female chairperson. Tracey has a particular interest in and commitment to improved and more accessible training in our industry, and is a huge advocate for the value that training brings to business. She wrote and produced the NVQ Level 2 ‘Prepare and profile substrates’, which is still delivered by FeRFA to this day.’

Continues the association: ‘She’s a well-known and respected industry professional, and is determined to bring a fresh outlook to her work with FeRFA, focusing especially on member benefits and training the next generation of resin flooring professionals. She is also keen to emphasise the value that FeRFA can add to member businesses, promoting the association as the leading industry experts and increasing membership and revenue.’

‘I’m really excited to continue and develop the work which Mark has been pushing forward over the last three and a half years, and I would like to add my personal thanks to him,’ says Tracey. ‘I’m now keen to take on the challenge of leading FeRFA into a new era, and I’m really looking forward to working alongside our chairman, vice chairman, and the whole FeRFA board.’
