TPS360 are a market-leading supplier and installer of flooring and hygiene systems for industrial and commercial applications. The company’s expertise covers three key areas – resin flooring, polished concrete, and hygiene solutions.
Its expertise in resin flooring, where the company is now a major player, has enabled it to build up an impressive portfolio of industrial projects.
FeRFA members
As a member of FeRFA, the company can supply resin flooring solutions within all eight of the FeRFA resin classifications. There are also a number of more technical treatments that the company can supply, such as chemical protection systems and anti-static floors, as might be laid in explosive or chemical environments.
The company leads the way on technical developments with resin flooring such as comfort resin flooring (liquid vinyl), which is seamless, impervious, easy to clean and ideal for hygiene-critical environments. The key areas of application include food and beverage, where polyurethane screeds are often used, warehousing and manufacturing, especially aerospace and vehicle manufacturers.
As well as being a sub-contractor, which is the primary historic role of the business, TPS360 has developed into a project management company. This is where the company has the opportunity to develop a resin flooring project into something a lot bigger, additionally including screeding, hygienic panelling and drainage – providing a full project management solution for the customer.
Viridor project in Cardiff
On a recent project, TPS360 has provided a hard-wearing finish for a demanding and potentially hazardous, live environment at an energy recovery facility (ERF) operated by Viridor in Cardiff. It is the largest facility of its kind in Wales and the resin flooring needed to cope with the movement of 50 tonne front loaders and other heavy plant equipment.
The work to install the flooring needed to be scheduled in such a way that the facility could maintain 24-hour operation without any downtime, and it was TPS360’s experience and project portfolio which opened the door for them on this project. The company worked closely with the client from an early stage, installing test samples and carrying out trials to ensure the best resin specification. As principal contractor, TPS360 was responsible for engaging with other live trades on site, including scaffolders, site production operatives, ground workers and cleaning contractors, as well as managing health and safety on site.
TPS360 is also the UK market leader in polished concrete. Mark Jackson, based at the company’s newly-expanded Midlands base in Tamworth, is the driving force behind the polished concrete business. He has worked for 20 years in the concrete flooring industry and was in at the start of polished concrete in the UK.
This type of flooring has historically been more popular in other markets, such as America, but has been in the UK for about 30 years now and is growing fast here too. Polished concrete is a long-lasting and durable alternative, lasting up to 25 years and suitable for manufacturing sites, hangars, warehousing, and a range of other applications.
