TILEMASTER Adhesives says its surface preparation range includes smoothing compounds for all substrates and situations, with single and double component products that can be used over everything from sand and cement screeds, tongue-and-groove floorboards, calcium sulphate screeds to adhesive residues and flooring grade bitumen.
Says the company: ‘In addition to perennial favourites such as its Super Flow 30 double component, ultra-rapid setting smoothing compound, the company has just launched several new products which will help prepare the perfect surface for installing floorcoverings. In line with the company’s policy of continual improvement and development the products are enhanced versions of some of their best-selling offerings.’
Tilemaster LevelFlex+ FINISH is the evolution of the popular Tilemaster LevelFlex which has been developed to give a superb surface finish, allowing resilient floorcoverings to be laid directly on top of the surface, says Tilemaster.
The company adds: ‘As its name implies, it’s a flexible fibre-reinforced smoothing compound that is rapid setting and drying, allowing foot traffic after 2.5 hours and floorcoverings to be applied after four hours. It can be applied in depths from 2mm to 60mm over a wide variety of substrates including flooring grade bitumen and asphalt, tongue-and-groove timber floorboards, existing vinyl and ceramic tiles, steel, as well as calcium sulphate and sand and cement screeds, and concrete. It’s moisture tolerant making it suitable for use to pre-smooth the floor before installation of a dampproof membrane.’
Rapid Repair Mortar+ is the new incarnation of Rapid Repair Mortar, described by Tilemaster as a rapid-drying, fast-setting mortar for internal and external repairs, designed for repairing, refacing, filling and patching floors. The company says it can be used in thicknesses between 2mm and 50mm on concrete, sand and cement screeds without the need for additional aggregate. ‘Rapid Repair Mortar+ is also moisture-tolerant, making it suitable for use under a DPM and in wet areas. It can be walked on after 30 minutes, and resilient floorcoverings can be fitted after 90 minutes.’
The company says: ‘The use of an effective DPM is essential where moisture sensitive floorcoverings and fitting materials are being applied. Whether this is residual moisture in new substrates that haven’t had sufficient time to dry, or is moisture in buildings where there is no, or an ineffective DPM present, Tilemaster FAST One Coat DPM can provide the solution when used in only a One Coat application.
‘Tilemaster FAST One Coat DPM is a fast-curing, one coat, epoxy resin DPM which has effective resistance to water, grease, oil, dilute mineral and organic acids. Curing in between 4-5 hours, it’s suitable for use on a wide range of substrates including concrete, sand and cement screeds where moisture levels are up to 98% RH and on calcium sulphate screeds where moisture levels are up to 95% RH (90% RH on heated calcium sulphate screeds).
