THE CFA’s annual golf event at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield took place on 21 April and was once again blessed with glorious weather for the occasion.

Forty-four golfers took part in the competition on the prestigious Brabazon course, the spiritual home of the Ryder Cup.

After enjoying a bacon roll and a hot drink to start the day, many of the competitors took the opportunity to use their free tokens for practicing on the driving range before teeing off.

Nearest the Pin was allocated to the 7th hole which is a somewhat tricky par 3, with the Longest Drive on the 16th hole, a par 4 of 405 yards.

After completion of their rounds the golfers enjoyed a well-deserved drink and buffet whilst they waited for the scores to be compiled and the winners announced.

CFA President Carl Harper (Westcotes Flooring Co Ltd, Essex) presented the trophies and prizes to the worthy winners.

After a very close competition, the individual winner was John O’Hara (Horizon Floors Ltd, Merseyside) who won a £50 Amazon voucher and trophy, as well as a 4-ball voucher kindly donated by TradeChoice Carpet and Flooring. The runner-up was Clinton Perren (STAUF Adhesives UK Ltd, Greater Manchester) who won a £30 Amazon voucher and trophy, as well as a bottle of Champagne kindly donated by CFJ.

The winning team was Horizon Floors Ltd which consisted of Chris Davidson, John O’Hara, Ryan Stevens and James Wiggins. The team won a £25 Amazon voucher each, plus trophies.

Ryan Stevens (Horizon Floors Ltd) won Nearest the Pin, and Richard Mears (Berkshire Flooring Ltd) won the Longest Drive, both collecting a £30 Amazon voucher each along with their trophies for their achievements.
