IDS’s laminate flooring portfolio reflects latest technical advances and design

Laminate flooring is recognised as a cost effective, stylish and low maintenance alternative to real wood and tiles, and IDS continues to respond to strong demand with a growing portfolio of designs ideal for domestic and commercial projects.

With laminate sales growing by 14% in 2021 in line with technical advances, improvements in installation methods and design development, IDS has continued to invest in a raft of new product lines reflecting the latest trends for water resistance, authentic surface textures and high-pressure floors.

IDS now stock over 300 laminate flooring options from leading brands including BerryAlloc, Quick-Step Xtra Step, FAUS and Swiss Krono, all available ex-stock for delivery to anywhere in the UK within 24-48 hours from its nationwide distribution network.

Across the IDS portfolio there’s a wealth of designs, colours and textures to choose from, all supported with co-ordinating accessories and underlays.

On-trend additions
Strengthening its exclusive national distribution partnership with BerryAlloc, IDS has recently added three new ranges to its portfolio offering customers access to the latest design and technical developments along with strong environmental credentials.

Ocean+ combines 100% water resistant hydro+ technology with high dimensional stability across 30 realistic natural wood and lifelike stone designs. Meanwhile, the Chateau 8mm laminate range meets demand for classic-contemporary styling across 15 parquet designs which can be laid in herringbone, shipdeck, ladder and mosaic configurations.

Answering demand for floors that can withstand serious impact, the Original, Grand Avenue and Grand Majestic High Pressure Floor (HPF) collections provide a durable and stylish flooring solution ideal for high-traffic environments and busy households. Comprising 30 authentic wood and stone designs, the ranges feature the revolutionary AluLoc 5G glue-free locking system which can tolerate loads of up to 1200 kg per linear metre.

Longstanding partnership
A mainstay of the IDS portfolio for several years, the premium Swiss Krono Origin 14mm laminate flooring is currently experiencing strong interest due to its ability to perfectly replicate the look and feel of real wood, at a more affordable price point.

Exclusively available from IDS, Origin features large, oversized planks of 2025mm long and 244mm wide which effortlessly showcase the rustic style and synchronised texture. Aquastop technology offers improved moisture resistance, while scratch, impact and fade resistance and an antibacterial coating as standard provides an enhanced 35-year residential warranty.

Swiss Krono’s pioneering approach to sustainability is reflected in the FSC certified range which is crafted from 100% natural materials, with all wood used being sourced from sustainably managed forests.

Gail Alcock, product director for flooring at IDS says: ‘As laminate flooring sales continue to grow due to technical advances which broaden the scope for use in any setting, we have continued to update our portfolio with new designs from our brand partners to ensure we’re always on point with the latest trends. The material can achieve the premium look of real timber or the stunning appearance of tiled floors, while offering the advantages of being affordable, highly durable, scratch resistant and easy to maintain. It underscores why it remains a popular seller for our trade customers.’
