Charity golf event to light up Kidderminster golf course

THE Kidderminster Carpet Manufacturers’ National Charity Golf Tournament will be celebrating its 65th event in May. Once again, the competition will be held across two days, 16-17 May, at the usual venue of Kidderminster golf course.

As in previous years, the first day will consist of a four-ball team event, while day two will be a pairs competition.

Last year’s four-ball competition was won by Simon McHale with his team ‘It’s Good to be Back’, while day two was won by PT Flooring. As well as the golf tournament, there’ll also be an extensive tombola, secret auction and other events on the days.

For those people and organisations that aren’t active golfers, there’s also the possibility of sponsoring a hole from as little as £50, with funds raised going to charity.

Organisers of the event are looking to build on the success of 2022, when the tournament was held once again following a three-year absence owing to the pandemic.

Last year, just over £18,000 was raised across the two days. This money was split between Macmillan and several charities local to Kidderminster.

If you’re interested in entering a team or sponsoring a hole, contact either Shaun Lewis (Shaun.carpetman@gmail.com) or Mike Dobson (mnjdobson@yahoo.com).
