Kemtile appoints HSEQ manager to bolster health and safety

WITH Kemtile continuing to add to its growing team, it says it’s welcomed its latest addition, Joe Crawley, who has 14 years of experience in management and maintaining health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) standards, as HSEQ manager.

Previously, Joe has been responsible for the management of tier-1 contractors across the UK, Europe, and Caribbean, working on largescale projects valued up to £1.125bn.

Speaking on the appointment, Jamie Cook, director of Kemtile, said: ‘Maintaining high standards within health and safety is at the core of our values. Joe’s vast experience within the HSEQ will be a great asset to the team and will allow the business to help not just our internal procedures but our customers’ as well.’

Joe will play a key role in mitigating reporting issues and driving continuous improvement. Working with the Kemtile team, he’ll implement a new user-friendly management system and training package to ensure everyone is up to date and that high standards are maintained in a seamless and efficient way to minimise downtime.

On joining Kemtile, Joe commented: ‘Following my interview and being briefed about my role and responsibilities as well as the company’s culture and progression I was excited to get started. I have managed sites previously where I’ve seen Kemtile working and therefore I knew that I had made the right decision.

‘Health and safety is about supporting and empowering others to make the right decisions now we aren’t remote working and back in the office and onsite. Covid-19 has impacted everyone so it’s important for people to know that they’re still supported.

‘We’re currently developing a training package and looking at incentives and are using technology to support the site teams so they can report issues more effectively and drive continuous improvement. Safety is part of what we do, just like wearing a seatbelt. It’s not an add-on.’

Kemtile is a member of various industry bodies and trade associations, and says it adheres to the relevant health and safety standards (eg ISO 45001), quality requirements and accreditation schemes.
