This job was part of a larger project at Leeds University that has seen the successful installation of our stair nosings to many different areas. We are proud to add this establishment to a long list of other schools, colleges and universities within the education sector that have been made safer by using our products.

As with all the previous blocks, the School of English required a Sahara insert to contrast with the Grey carpet, and maintain the uniformity of other blocks that have been fitted with our Sahara nosings.

This project has utilised Morleys’ fast, free measuring service at every stage of renovation. All steps were measured by our local surveyor, who also templated the bottom step which featured a double-ended curve.

Results:

HN3 was specified to cover the timber bullnose on the steps, and the insert was supplied separately. This allows stair nosings to be mechanically fixed to the step prior to the installation of the anti-slip infill. In doing so, the insert can be laid in the channel after fitment to conceal the fixings and leave a clean, uniform aesthetic.

In accordance with Building Regulations Documents K&M guidelines, and to maintain 30 points of LRV difference, Morleys liaised with the contractor and end user and Sahara was selected. This insert was used throughout the Leeds University project.
