ABACUS Flooring Solutions has partnered with UltraFloor to complete a 40sq m flooring development at Grantham College.
Background
Lincolnshire-based Grantham College has provided students with education and training for more than 70 years. Over the past seven decades, it’s built a reputation for creating a welcoming and supportive environment for every student. In Autumn 2023, 280sq m of the college was developed to modernise facilities for staff and students.
The challenge
Completed over four phases, and across several busy areas such as workshops and classrooms, flooring specialists Abacus Flooring Solutions, required subfloor preparation materials that would result in a quick turnaround, as the project needed to be completed while students, and other trades, were working.
The solution
FeRFA members, Abacus Flooring Solutions, chose to use Prime IT Multi-surface Primer and Level IT Renovate to complete 40sq m of subfloor preparation in the Grantham College garage.

‘Suitable for deep applications from 3-40mm, Level IT Renovate is multi-purpose for extensive use and boasts excellent flow properties, making this flexible and versatile floor leveller ideal for a wide range of flooring substrates.
‘What’s more, Level IT Renovate can also be used externally, as a light wearing surface, can be walked on in as little as 2-2.5 hours and can receive floorcoverings in just four hours.’
Results
The 40sq m flooring development was completed over four days and delivered on time. On completion, Abacus Flooring Solutions commented: ‘Level IT Renovate was superb. It was user and site friendly, and the customer was very happy with the end results.’
