For 75 years, TREMCO has been offering the best quality products in subfloor preparation

FOR 75 years, TREMCO has, it says, been at the heart of flooring innovation – ‘offering the best quality products in subfloor preparation’.

Says the company: ‘From our position as the founder of damp-proof membranes (DPMs), through to present-day initiatives such as the introduction of advanced technology smoothing compounds, TREMCO provides UK contractors and the distribution market with fully compatible systems.

‘Without a solid flooring preparation system in place, the consequences for the entire flooring installation can be in jeopardy, but that focus on innovation and quality throughout TREMCO’s product range and services means installers and specifiers can have complete peace of mind that the foundations are being laid to ensure a successful flooring project where TREMCO is chosen.

Systems available include DPMs, smoothing compounds, and adhesives, and all products are geared-up for a wide-range of requirements, to meet the modern demands placed on refurbishment and newbuild projects.’

The company adds: ‘Each TREMCO product is designed to be compatible with others from the range, to achieve a winning formula underfoot. A key product in the TREMCO line-up is SX600NA, the ideal choice where a rapid-setting, low-odour solution is needed.

‘A high-performance smoothing compound, SX600NA offers a trusted route that specifiers and contractors can rely on. Protein-free and moisture-tolerant, the smoothing underlayment has an ammonia-free formulation, purpose-designed for levelling uneven subfloors. The suitable choice for areas that require low odour products, the two-part system has a walk on time of just two hours and can receive floorcoverings after four hours.

‘SX600NA can be used over old adhesive residue in interior applications, and under DPM or over underfloor heating systems – and there’s no need to prime if it’s applied to a TREMCO DPM.
It’s suitable for most substrates, including ceramic tiles, asphalt, plywood, and for use over most adhesive residues.’

Mark Bradley, TREMCO area sales manager, said: ‘SX600NA is one of a number of smoothing compounds in the TREMCO range, which includes two-part latex underlayments, general-purpose, high performance, and moisture tolerant grades, as well as water-mixed underlayments, which can be hand or pump applied for heavy-duty applications.

‘Delivering a solution for the most complex installations, these smoothing compounds are innovative and ecological. They include new shrinkage compensating control systems, new flow aids and low VOC emission polymers.

‘All are formulated to work in-conjunction with the TREMCO surface DPMs and adhesives that are also available from the brand, providing UK contractors and the distribution market with fully compatible systems.

‘A brand of CPG (UK) – alongside Flowcrete, illbruck, Dryvit, Nudura, and Nullifire – TREMCO also offers customers an extensive product selection, backed up by unrivalled technical support, from initial product advice to product training and onsite technical assistance.

Mark Bradley added: ‘Our technical services team are on-hand to help with moisture tests, installation advice, ongoing project support and much more, to give our customers confidence in using our products to achieve optimum installation results.’
