Unleash versatility and reliability with Kerakoll’s expanded H40 gel-adhesive range

Kerakoll’s H40 range of multi-purpose gel-adhesives can reportedly be used with any type of tile and all conceivable substrate, including of course ceramic tile and stone. The range has just been expanded to four products with the introduction of H40 Ultimate.

Says Kerakoll: ‘H40 Gel is a standard-setting powder form gel-adhesive, and H40 Advanced is a rapid-setting powder form gel-adhesive which offers long working times and accelerated adhesion.

The newest addition, H40 Ultimate is a rapid-setting powder form gel-adhesive with genuine S2 deformability. It’s the first of its kind – combining excellent workability with a high degree of flexibility and deformation, ensuring the utmost reliability even on difficult to tile substrates such as wood and metal.

‘H40 Ultimate is available in Grey and Shock White, as are H40 Gel and H40 Advanced. Shock White’s extreme whiteness comes from a special combination of cements and natural pure white materials which also contribute to the excellent flow properties of the products, and increase coverage and workability. It makes the adhesives perfect for working with light coloured grouts and all types of natural stone and marble.’

The company continues: ‘All three adhesives are easy to spread and hold their shape, supporting the weight of large tiles and stopping vertical slip on walls, making work onsite simple. The rapid setting adhesives are non-hazardous to the environment and human health, as the formulation does not include Portland cement and is non-irritating to the skin.

‘The way that the mix flows means it fully wets the back of the tile, filling voids, and ensuring a full structural bond, while the fact that it doesn’t dry out means it doesn’t thicken or allow a film to form.’

H40 Extreme, a hybrid gel-adhesive completes the range.

Says Kerakoll: ‘This combines extreme fluidity – it’s five times less viscous than a traditional polyurethane adhesive – with extreme flexibility, as it is 10 times more deformable than generic S2 adhesives. It can cope with the most extreme onsite conditions making it the obvious choice for sites with uncommon and/or difficult substrates that cause problems for other adhesives.’

Kerakoll’s R&D team has developed its own stringent tests which reportedly ensure H40 gel-adhesives will withstand the stresses suffered by a tiling installation in the real world and not just in laboratory conditions.

Continues Kerakoll: ‘Samples of a floor bonded with adhesive are subjected to 20 mechanical stress cycles, 50 thermal stress cycles and 50 freeze-thaw cycles, before undergoing tensile and shear strength tests to measure the strength of the bond. All four H40 gel-adhesives pass these tests with flying colours owing to the strength of the adhesive bond.’

The company concludes: ‘The range really is universal: suitable for use on all substrates and in all situations, be it in residential or heavy duty commercial settings, internally or externally. Externally it can even be used on areas subject to significant temperature changes and in constant exposure to water. Talk to Tilemaster Adhesives commercial team for more information on the products.’
