F BALL and Co has expanded its team of flooring installation experts to meet growing demand for training courses delivered at the F Ball Centre of Excellence, with the appointment of Steve Lane as training officer.

Working alongside F Ball head of training, Tim Green, Steve will promote best practice in flooring installation by delivering training courses at the F Ball Centre of Excellence and further afield according to customer requirements.

Steve brings more than 30 years’ experience in the flooring trade to the role, starting his career as a flooring apprentice at 16 and fitting all kinds of textile and resilient floorcoverings in domestic and commercial settings.

He has had a preference for using F Ball subfloor preparation products and adhesives ever since and later started his own flooring business, building up a small team of floor-fitters while always remaining hands-on, says F Ball.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: ‘In my opinion, F Ball is the leading floor preparation products and adhesive manufacturer. I’ve used their products throughout my career, and I’ve always been impressed by them, as well as the ethos of the company, and been supported by the technical service department. I’ve always been passionate about flooring, and I think it’s time for me to help the next generation of fitters coming into the trade, so when I saw the position advertised at the F Ball Centre of Excellence, I thought it was the perfect opportunity.’

The F Ball Centre of Excellence offers free training for flooring professionals, including specialist courses for apprentices and seasoned professionals, covering subfloor preparation and floorcovering installation through practical demonstrations and exercises using high-performance F Ball products.
