THE new Academy for Excellence in Flooring in Knowsley, Liverpool, has seen the first floor-fitters through its doors to take part in the Quick-Step Master Installer programme.

With a new training facility that includes six bays and separate cutting room, a dedicated training room for theory-based learning and product tuition and breakout area, the Academy for Excellence in Flooring is a state-of-the-art centre for training the industry’s new generation and upskilling its professionals.

Having recently opened its doors after a period of testing, the academy has already welcomed the first attendees through its Wood & Laminate Master Installer and Vinyl Master Installer courses at the new centre. Feedback to both the courses and new centre have reportedly been very
positive. In fact, for most installers the academy has provided an excellent service, from booking the course right through to the training provided.

‘The only real way to describe the last three-days is ‘wow,’’ says one newly qualified Wood & Laminate Master Installer. ‘I came here thinking I was a pretty good fitter, but I’m leaving with much more understanding and the ability to make my business grow.’

Another industry professional, this time having successfully completed the Vinyl Master Installer programme, also evaluated the facilities as excellent and said, ‘Loved the training, very detailed orientation and pushed me to perfection.’

The Wood & Laminate Master Installer course at the new Knowsley centre has also been accredited by the National Institute of Carpet & Floorlayers (NICF), so those successfully completing the programme can also qualify for NICF Master Installer status.
