AT The Solid Wood Flooring Company, we believe in innovation through collaboration. That’s why we work closely with architects and designers to create unique flooring for commercial projects such as restaurants.
Designing restaurants is all about creating an atmosphere. You want your customers to be immersed in the experience as soon as they step through your doors. Finding the right fit for your flooring is crucial – it captures the look and feel of any commercial project.
As wood is a natural insulator, our flooring is perfect for all seasons. It’ll help keep the heat in during the winter and keep your guests cool in the summer. As our wood is a fibrous material, it helps absorb sound, to maintain the right atmosphere for any commercial project.
Commercial flooring must be fit for purpose, too. Restaurants can open as early as breakfast and close long after the sun sets. Regular footfall requires durable, long-lasting fits. We take pride in offering products that can be deep cleaned or sanded for new finishes, without compromise.
As with any commercial project, running a restaurant comes with an impact on the environment. Our hardwood flooring can help you drastically reduce your carbon footprint, by using wood as a building material. For example, it takes five times more energy to produce one tonne of cement compared to producing our wood flooring.
We’re proud to have played a part in bringing restaurants across the UK to life. If you need inspiration for your latest project, here are just five examples of the many times our wood flooring fitted restaurants perfectly.
Fumed Oak Parquet for Nosh and Quaff
All we were given by design partner Keane Brands was a picture. Using that, our task was to manufacture a traditional herringbone engineered wood floor for the Nosh and Quaff restaurant chain.
Our Engineered Antique Fumed Oak Parquet flooring with a UV Oil Finish was chosen for long-lasting durability. To match Nosh and Quaff’s American Diner aesthetics, they wanted flooring packed with the character and warmth of reclaimed oak.
We achieved this by fuming the Oak for a long time to darken the colour. To create antique edges we ‘fired’ areas of each piece at random points for a completely unique look.
Herringbone Parquet Flooring for Percy & Founders
Our brief was simple: 300sq m of wood flooring for a luxury restaurant in the heart of London’s Fitzrovia. Designed to meet the needs of young, affluent workers, the look and feel of Percy & Founder’s needed to be stylish and innovative.
Our natural fumed and brushed herringbone parquet in prime grade oak was chosen for this commercial project. Its natural finish lends a subtle elegance to Percy & Founder’s luxury surroundings.
This flooring offers unrivalled durability capable of withstanding the all-day traffic restaurants such as Percy & Founders experience from their breakfast menu through to their evening cocktails.
Select Grade Wide White Oak Flooring for Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
We take great pride in bringing brands to life in commercial projects like restaurants. It was an honour to work with PEC Contracting on Europe’s first-ever Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
We aimed to recreate the authentic look and feel the restaurants offer in America. Using our Select Grade Wide White Oak Flooring, we created a unique look with a ‘grey’ hue. We achieved this bespoke finish by applying hard wax oil to the fitted unfinished flooring.
Engineered Antique Fumed Oak Parquet for Strada
Since our early years, we’ve always believed in incorporating innovative techniques to create unique looks. Working with Keane Brands, we used fuming and firing for mellow tones and worn effects to add character and charm to a Strada restaurant.
The tones blended perfectly with our Engineered Antique Fumed Oak Parquet, doubling up as cladding for their cooking counter. This flooring was chosen not only for its aesthetic finish but for its durability, providing long-lasting life and strength for the high-traffic areas commercial projects have.
Double Brushed Fumed Oak Flooring for Le Bistro Pierre Restaurants
We make it easy for restaurants and commercial projects to build out their brand. As manufacturers of commercial wood floors, we cut out the middlemen for the best floor at the best price. That’s why we continue to work with Le Bistro Pierre as they expand and grow across the UK.
Our Double Brushed Fumed Oak Flooring adds depth of colour and offers a unique feel for visitors. Finished on-site with coloured and hard-wax oils, this floor perfectly captures Le Bistro Pierre’s stylish and relaxing environment for their great-value French-style dishes.
