TRAINING in the latest techniques is essential to keep updated in any profession, and updated standards and changes in substrates and materials mean the flooring industry’s no exception.

Tilemaster Adhesives – Kerakoll Group has put together a schedule of training days for flooring and tiling which it says will help installers learn the latest systems, using the company’s products in its training centre based in easy-to-access Bromsgrove.

The flooring training is reportedly a mix of hands-on practical and theoretical training. It covers correct practice for subfloor preparation including testing for, and controlling moisture; using primers, and repairing minor imperfections; selecting and applying smoothing compounds; and the use of adhesives.

The first courses are being held on 2 February, 9 March, and 4 May with more dates to follow.

The tiling training is also a mixture of practical and theoretical training covering the British Standards, and hints, tips and takeaways on surface preparation and the use of adhesives and grouts, with an introduction to Kerakoll’s H40 gel adhesives and Fugabella Color and Fugalite Bio grout ranges.

Courses are being held on 16 February, 20 April and 18 May and again, more dates follow.

The 2,600sq ft Kerakoll Campus has been entirely updated with a dedicated classroom for presentations about the theory behind the systems, and a practical area for demonstrations and hands on training on applications.

In addition to the scheduled programme, the company is offering clients who wish to train their staff the opportunity to arrange training on dates that suit them, including bespoke training on particular needs such as systems for projects they’re working on.
