InterContinental – ANA Ishigaki Resort, Japan

Nestled at the southernmost point of Japan’s Okinawa region, at the gateway to the 21 islands making up the Yaeyama archipelago, is the InterContinental ANA Ishigaki Resort.

With a brief to bring a new level of luxury to the island, designers Hirsh Bedner Associates needed an interior scheme and finishes that would reflect this and complement the hotel’s surroundings.

More than 3,500m of Amtico’s premium Signature collection was chosen for the floors of the 250+ rooms and suites. A combination of high design and durability made it possible to create a bespoke, natural feel using man-made materials.

A unique palette of colours and shapes to create inspiring flooring design.

An Arrow laying pattern, with its clean lines and simple geometry, lends itself to a modern take on traditional Parquetry when used in a combination of woods. The warm, dark wood tones of Reclaimed Oak and Pier Oak contrast with the cool grey of Harbour Pine to blend with the neutral scheme and provide the perfect backdrop.
