When the clinical team at Nuneaton-based Mary Ann Evans Hospice wanted to modernise the building’s interior décor, top of their list was durable flooring that could not only meet infection control regulations but would also be low maintenance.
Abstract Flooring was enlisted by the hospice and recommended LVT from Amtico’s Spacia 36+ collection to meet these requirements. While Mary Ann Evans Hospice previously had thin carpet tiles, the team felt the new safety LVT should add a contemporary yet welcoming feel to the reception area and various therapy, activity and consulting rooms. The team worked closely with Abstract Flooring to select an array of modern Woods and Stones from the Spacia 36+ to complement the hospice’s new interior design.
Amtico Spacia 36+ LVT was specified by Abstract Flooring for its integral antimicrobial protection. All planks and tiles in the collection incorporate an active ingredient resistant to the growth of bacteria, such as MRSA or E.coli, adding peace of mind for patients and staff between cleaning routines, while meeting UK infection control regulations. As Mary Ann Evans Hospice provides day services for patients with mobility issues, safety was paramount. Spacia 36+ offers enhanced slip resistance for the lifetime of the product due to the particles distributed throughout the wear layers.
