THE British Adhesives & Sealants Association (BASA) says it’s proud to announce the launch of a new awards scheme.
With a gala evening celebration planned for November this year, the BASA Awards are open to all BASA member companies.
BASA is the voice of the entire adhesives and sealants industry, working tirelessly since 1983 to represent and promote the sector, offering guidance, support services and networking opportunities for its members. However it’s felt that the one thing that has been missing has been an awards programme, designed and developed specifically to recognise excellence and achievement within the adhesives and sealants industry.
‘This is a very exciting moment for us, and for the sector as a whole,’ says Lorna Williams, BASA secretary. ‘Issues such as quality, training, health & safety and sustainability have been key concerns of BASA members for decades, and I believe it is a great step forward that we now have an awards programme which formally recognises achievement and excellence in these and a number of other areas. We are really looking forward to maximum engagement from the industry in the BASA Awards – and of course we look forward to seeing everybody in November!’
The award categories are as follows (sponsors correct at the time of going to press):
- Manufacturer of the Year
- Excellence in Supply & Services – sponsored by Rakem Ltd
- Marketing Campaign of the Year
- Best Product Packaging
- Process Safety
- Excellence in Training & Development – sponsored by F. Ball and Co. Ltd
- Community Engagement
- Young Achiever
- Environment & Sustainability Initiative
- Innovation – sponsored by Azelis UK
The judging panel for each category consists of a team of senior industry professionals, a representative from the sponsor and a past BASA chair.
A number of high profile sponsorship opportunities are available to support the awards. Enquiries regarding sponsorship are welcome.
‘This is a new and excellent opportunity to raise your profile, align your brand with excellence, and give back to the industry that has given us so much,’ says Lorna Williams.
In addition to association with the quality positioning of the awards, all sponsors will also benefit from: - A table of 10 at the awards night;
- The option to present the award on the night for the category you’re sponsoring;
- A place on the judging panel for the awards;
- Your company logo in social media, PR and on the awards website;
- Your logo featured in event photos;
- A customised sponsor logo to use on your website.
The price of the sponsorship package is £3,750.00 + VAT. Companies cannot enter an award they’re sponsoring, but can still enter any other category.
In addition to the category sponsorships, there are also other sponsorship opportunities. These include: - Table favours provided by the sponsor and featuring your logo;
- Awards guide and table plan (your logo and an advert featured on both);
- Photobooth (your logo on the photos);
- Chairman’s drinks reception.
Each of these opportunities costs £500 + VAT.
The awards event itself will take place at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham, NG7 2RJ, on 22 November 2024, starting at 7pm.
Says BASA: ‘The event will be hosted by stand-up comedian Jimmy McGhie and promises to be a great celebration, showcasing the best that the adhesives and sealants industry has to offer, along with an enjoyable meal and memorable entertainment. The venue is just a 10 minute drive from J25 off the M1, centrally located in Nottingham, with convenient rail links to London. Comfortable overnight accommodation is available in the adjacent Orchard Hotel.’
