Instarmac expands board of directors with new appointments

INSTARMAC Group has announced the appointment of two new board members and a managing director designate to support its strategic growth plans.

Lizzie Elston, director
(managing director designate)

Qualified with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) hons in international business, finance and economics, Lizzie’s nine years company experience and cross-brand knowledge, ‘provides a solid foundation in taking her career to new heights as board director and trustee’.

Lizzie took control of the operational duties as managing director designate from 1 May 2023 and will work under the guidance of members of the existing holdings board and Mark Shorrock, managing director.

Lizzie says: ‘It’s a great honour to accept the appointment of managing director designate. I’m looking forward to working alongside Mark and our highly experienced board of directors to shape the future of our incredible company and further build on our success.

‘I’m particularly passionate about advancing our market leading innovation and world class customer experience and I’m confident with the support of our exceptionally talented and passionate team we have a bright future.’

Richard Anderson, finance director
Richard has worked for Instarmac for 12 years, as financial controller and more recently as head of finance.

Richard said: ‘To have been appointed as finance director at this exciting stage in the growth and development of Instarmac is an honour. I look forward to continuing working with the senior management and directors on our plans for the future success of this world class manufacturing business.’

Darren Gough, quality and operations director
Darren has worked hard to achieve many things over the course of his 12 years career with Instarmac Group and will continue to apply his expertise in his new role as a director, says the company.

Darren says: ’I’m delighted to be taking up this role. Instarmac has seen fantastic growth over the last couple of years and I look forward to playing a significant role in accelerating manufacturing innovation, utilising sustainable resources and minimising our carbon impact.’

Following 27 years with the business it’s with regret that existing group sales and marketing director, Paul Butcher left on 15 May 2023, says Instarmac.

It added: ‘Paul has been instrumental in leading the sales operation and driving business growth, starting as sales manager, progressing to group sales director and most recently as the managing director for Aztec Aerosols.’

Paul said: ‘My time at Instarmac has been most enjoyable, when I started in 1996 the company was a small Midlands producer with great ambition, some 28 years later it is now a truly world-class organisation that I am proud to have been involved with.

‘Instarmac has always challenged the accepted way of doing things and has over the years introduced many innovative products and services that are now considered standard practice, listening to its customer base has been key to this ensuring we deliver exactly what the market wants.

‘I’ve been fortunate to have met so many people across many markets. I’ve worked with great people, some customer-facing and also the invisible folk who work in the background making sure the wheels of the business run smoothly. Many have gone on to bigger roles in the business and some have taken up senior roles across the world. I wish everyone at Instarmac a prosperous and successful future.’

John Holcroft, ceo, says: ‘These appointments are well-deserved and mark another significant development in Instarmac’s strategic plans for 2023 and beyond. The board of directors and trustees want to thank Paul Butcher for his years of dedicated service, passion, enthusiasm and for making a lasting difference to our business. He’ll be greatly missed by all. Instarmac has solid foundations built on excellence, innovation and collaboration. The strong team of people and competitive positioning of the business means that I am confident we can continue to achieve great things on behalf of our customers.’
