INTERFACE CULTIVATES CONVERSATIONS ON THE FUTURE OF DESIGN AT CLERKENWELL DESIGN WEEK

What: In a series of seminars and events, Interface brings together forward-thinking design experts at Clerkenwell Design Week to explore life-centred design, a burgeoning approach that places the needs, values, and experiences of all life forms at its core. Events will cultivate a conversation about how this interconnected approach creates new opportunities for architects, designers, and the built environment.

Where: The Interface showroom at Pennybank Chambers, 33-35 St John’s Square, Clerkenwell, London, EC1M 4DS.

Events: Tuesday 23 May at 09:00 and Wednesday 24 May at 09:00 – Biophilic design strategist Victoria Jackson joins our concept and product designers to discuss why nature remains central to a more holistic approach to design.

Tuesday 23 May at 18:00 – Biophilic design expert Oliver Heath will moderate a lively seminar exploring the momentum behind life-centred design and its potential impact on the design process. Featuring David Kirkland, Dr.Shira de Bourbon Parme, Kara de los Reyes and Dr Gemma Jerome.

Wednesday 24 May at 18:00 – Becky Gordon, regional sustainability manager at Interface, will host Rachael Owens, co-ordinator of Architects Climate Action Network (ACAN), for an interactive session examining how designers can overcome aspirations of ‘doing less bad’ and instead find ways to actively do good. This event will provide designers with practical suggestions on the questions to ask of suppliers, the metrics to understand and consider, and how to integrate positive action within their work.

Tuesday, 23 May – Thursday, 25 May from 11:00 – 16:30 – Clerkenwell Design Week attendees can also visit the Interface showroom at Pennybank Chambers throughout the week for an exclusive first look at Interface’s new biophilic carpet tile collection, Upon Common Ground, which will be installed throughout the Clerkenwell showroom.
