Likewise Floors takes two units in Walkden development

COMMERCIAL and industrial property specialist, Towngate PLC, has leased three new industrial units in its £6m+ Walkden development.

Two of these units have been taken by Likewise Floors, a subsidiary of flooring distribution company Likewise Group. The leases follow the recent completion of construction on the site, formerly home to the Lucozade factory.

Likewise Floors has completed a 10-year lease of units 3E and 3F, after signing a pre-let on the combined 18,197sq ft facility earlier this year.

Says the company, ‘As well as high-quality specification office accommodation, the units benefit from electrically operated, insulated level access doors, power supplies of up to 100kVA, haunch heights of 10.31m at the front and 7.31m at the rear, dedicated car parking spaces, 30-metre yards, floor loading capacities of up to 37.5kN/sq m, and fully secured, single-point access/egress.
‘With a range of characteristics that help boost the site’s green credentials, and a ‘very good’ rating from sustainability assessor BREEAM, the new development in the Towngate business centre has also been constructed with the environment in mind.

‘Features include photovoltaic solar panels, thermally efficient cladding, air source heat pump systems, energy efficiency LED lighting, and EV charging points, all of which have helped the development achieve EPC rating ‘A-’, passing significant cost savings onto occupiers.’

Tom Lamb, property manager at Towngate, commented: ‘We’re thrilled to have been able to complete the two leases of these brand new industrial/warehouse units so quickly. We look forward to welcoming the Likewise Group to the site, and don’t doubt that working out of such a strategic location will be beneficial to the organisation.’

Located off Lester Road, Towngate Business Centre is accessed from Manchester Road West (A6), one mile due west of Walkden. Junction 4 of the M61 motorway also lies within one mile of the premises via the A6, providing immediate access to the north-west motorway network.

Situated about eight miles northwest of Manchester city centre and three miles southwest of Bolton, the site boasts advantageous connections to neighbouring towns and cities too.
