Mapei Academy, a purpose-built training facility in the West Midlands, is a central hub for all Mapei-wide programmes of practical and theoretical training. The purpose-built facility provides ongoing support for customers and construction professionals covering Mapei’s many product lines and specialisms.

Opened in January 2019, Mapei Academy is located opposite the firm’s UK Headquarters in Halesowen. Facilities include a 31-seater ‘stadium’ auditorium for presentations and demonstrations. A number of dedicated bays are available for a hands-on experience of Mapei wall and floor systems, including those used for installing ceramic and stone finishes, resilient and wood flooring, industrial flooring (resin, Ultratop and Ultratop Loft), structural waterproofing, swimming pool construction, concrete repair, EWI, render and coatings.

All training is provided free of charge and is hosted by experienced trainers and technical personnel from Mapei’s UK team – including Neal Perryman, Adrian Jones, Gary Hardy, Luke Rowberry, Andrew Bradley and Martin Yarker – and is headed up by Senior Training Manager, Jez Mann. Courses at MAPEI Academy for late summer and early autumn include:

Ceramic Tiling Installation Course: 28^th July; 31^st August; 15^th September.

Subfloor Preparation for Resilient Flooring Course: 12th July; 9^thAugust; 6^th and 20^th September.

Resin Flooring Course: 7^th July; 11^th August; 1^st September.

Ultratop Loft Course: 21^st July; 25^th August; 29^th September.

External Wall Insulation Course: EWI Course: 20^th July; 24^th August; 28^th September.

All training delegates receive presentation notes, refreshments, lunch, a factory tour (subject to availability) and a Mapei Academy ‘Goodie Pack’.

In addition to Mapei’s training programme, the facilities are also available to distributors, retailers, contractors, designers and engineers, and training can be tailored to their specific needs. Meeting room facilities are also available at the Academy.

The training facility’s sports theme demonstrates synergy with the importance of coaching, dedication and commitment to performance. Mapei has always had strong links to global sport, particularly cycling and football, and is the owner of the Italian Football Club, U.S. Sassuolo Calcio

based at the Mapei Stadium, Italy. In the UK, Mapei sponsors its local football team, Halesowen Town F.C., Halesowen Cycling Academy and European Tour Golfers, Adrian Otaegui and Andrew Wilson and Golf Coach, Chris Ryan.
